Deck the halls with boughs of holly,
And a Happy New Year!
'Tis the season to be jolly -

Glory to our new born King,
Joyful and triumphant,
Peace on earth and mercy mild -

Don we now our gay apparel -
On Christmas Day, on Christmas Day -
Troll the ancient yuletide carol -
On Christmas Day in the morning.

All is calm! All is quiet!
Westward leading, still proceeding,
Three French hens, two turtle doves -
And a Happy New Year!

I sang this to the Baron recently, and she commented that it was 'like being stuck in an elevator'. Strangely enough I took it as a compliment.
